Story of Yester Years... II

CONTINUATION OF THE TOWN HOUSE STORIES.... My father's boss's family was occupying the front portion of the town house and since my father was his employee, his boss gave us the back portion, ie one room and one corridor leading to the balcony. How many of us? 8 only.... :)

Each morning my 2 elder sisters who slept at the corridor way had to get up very early so that the boss's wife could pass through the corridor to go to the balcony to dry her clothes. The corridor was just 4 feet wide. After my sisters had got up, a 3 by 3 feet table would be laid there. The table would be used for our meals, for our homework, for ironing and all sorts.... So imagine a 4 feet width corridor with a 3 feet square table, how narrow it was.

During the nights, we had a yellow light bulb just above the table, for our studies. At least 4 of us would be sharing the table, the other 2 younger ones would be "kicked" out....

Most times, my 2 elder sisters would be standing up and studying..... HOW? Well, their method of studying was out of the world. They did their studying by writing with chalks on the wall like a teacher and talking to themselves. Believe it or not?? To them, that was the best way to study, ie to talk out loud so as to remember better...... Wanna try? Well, drink more honey first before studying... *smile*

  1. helo reana..you can resize a huge image by pointing ur mouse pointer at any corner of the image..then when u press-hold the lift mouse button the mouse pointer will change into like arrows. then you drag the resize (arrow) inwards of outward to resize the image/picture.hope this helps.
