First & Last Time At Three Junctions

Simpang Tiga means Three Junctions.. I never heard or been to this Simpang Tiga restaurant until today when we had a lunch appointment with an insurance agent. We were supposed to meet at 1pm but the three of us turned up 15 minutes late bec we couldn't find the exact spot of this place....

Never the mind, finally we did... and we got ourselves a nice table at a corner. We took a picture of ourselves before we went to order at the front entrance of the restaurant. It was pretty crowded, waiters and waitresses seemed rather busy... After waiting for few minutes and some pointing to the food displayed, we went to take our seats.

Upon returning to the table, I saw Lynn standing at one corner, I asked her what happened, she said she was "kicked out" by a couple of men who told her that they had reserved that table by putting their file on the chair.... (my gosh...no reserved sign meh?)

Never the mind again, we told the waiter we had no place... so... we were ushered to a nice room and I was saying "Wow.. not bad la, a room to ourselves" and we took a few pictures, as usual....

lynn happily posing here and there ..

Ok, all were well until after half hour or so, no sign of food arriving.... oh man!! why so long one.. actually all the food were already cooked.. just putting them on plates and serving us only... why the long delay?? I beh tahan, went out to look see, saw one chinese elderly man waving at me, I ignored him... WHY? Bec he must be thinking I was a waitress... just because I wore baju kurung ah, he must be thinking I was one... cis....

True enough, while I was searching for the waitress who took my order earlier, he came and told me, "Can you come to my table and take order?" Ipretended not to hear and told one waitress beside me that I have been waiting half hour, where is my food??? Immediately I saw his embarassment at the corner of my eye... hahahahhaha... Good!

But of course, no good for me and my gals.... We gave up... no way we were going to wait for our food anymore, no proper service and management to control the customers orders... very bad system... I bet many people just eat and go off un-noticed... really!!

What happened to our lunch? We ended up taking the below.... porridge and economy fried noodles instead.... Don't know whether to be angry or happy... What A Lunch!!

  13. Ya, service is very important! Even if the food is good, if I have to wait a long time...or worse still, if I have to queue up, forget it! I wonder why people do that...as if there is nothing else to eat!

  16. HI Reana, I was surprised to see the Simpang Tiga Rest at yr place. Here in Kuching, Simpang Tiga is known for the Federal Territory complex and they have a cafeteria downstairs. It's a wise decision for you that is the 1st n the last course. :-)

  29. I walked out of a restaurant once after waiting over 30 minutes just to have our drink order taken and then another 30 minutes waiting for the drinks (soda) to be given to us. I gave up and just left! The sad thing was there were only a couple of tables with customers! Sounds like you made the best of a bad situation.

  30. dolly: no, only certain days we have to wear...

  31. no wonder you never heard or been to this Simpang Tiga before. Such a bad service, everyone had a bad experince with it, no one want to "advertise" for them or worth to mention it. hahahhahaha

  32. i see your point, reana.
no wonder thats the first n last visit.
service-wise, the time i was there (maybe cz they newly opened back then), it was good. very attentive, clearing the tables as they should, and taking our orders politely.
though kinda funny to hear them speaking the Indonesian Malay.
