I eat the good, the bad and the ugly.... all "rojak." Ask anyone and they will say, "don't eat just all the healthy clean food, it is not good for our bodies. If accidentally ate some dirty food, our stomachs will get upset." True? Yes!
Talking about food, just take a look at these...
They were actually "awful".... no sweet taste...I will go "make noise" this weekend to the market fella.... so bad!
Out of the four potatoes he sold to me, only one can be eaten!!
Talking about deworming, I couldn't get it done with these "spoilt potatoes!"
Those 'fan shee' look really 'fan shee', so dry, not appealing at all... You are right, must scold the market fella. I am always cheated by them. I bought some 'Kao Kei' (a type of leafy green veg with thorns on its stalk - for making soup) and was charged RM1.50 for 500 gm of it. When I reached home, I had an unpleasant feeling that something was not right so I weighed the veg using my own kitchen scale. Guess what? Short of 30 gm! I'm not yim chim, but the truth is I have always been cheated by those market fellas
ReplyDeletemingna: at least u weighed them.. i never did.. but this fan shee also not cheap nowadays.. yes, gonna *sc...w* him.. complimenting them some more.. btw, thanks for the cholesterol advice.. i heard of that before but not the throwing away the water.. i heard they drank all of it!
ReplyDeleteThat day hubby bought some Japanese potatoes from Tesco. I steamed one for lunch today and it was fresh and sweet. Other than meat, we prefer to get our veggies and grocery from the supermarket. At least what you see is what you get (pricing wise) and not pay whatever the market seller demands.0: I kena slaughter a few times.
ReplyDeleteHehe.. Sorry.. the potatoes my hubby bought from Jusco, not Tesco. We usually get the Japanenese potatoes from Jusco which is fresher. Hmmm... wonder why.
ReplyDelete75% not good is not a good statistic. I cannot say that I was cheated cos I selected them myself. I am just wondering, will the bad potatoes smell? Maybe I will try smelling it next time. I always smell pineapple.
ReplyDeleteNext time buy the japanese sweet potato la... sweet and delicious, especially if you bbq it with charcoal... yummy~!
ReplyDeleteinspiredmum: i also went to Jusco to buy the ready steamed one.. one Japanese potato cost 3rm plus.. so so expensive.. but extremely sweet.. really pays for quality.. this bunch.. sigh.. maybe i dont know how to choose..

I bought three that day - used one for my porridge - a bit of holes but only on the surface. Cut that away, the rest ok... Still got two more. Maybe by the time, I cook...tunnelling already all through the potatoes liao! :(
ReplyDeletei can't really take potatoes or 'fun shee" becoz i tend to fart a lot after eating potatoes,...especially this type.may be becoz of my stomach's chemistry.you experienced this case or not?
ReplyDeletestp: yes, cook it fast fast.. otherwise sure rosak liow...
