So.... what did we have yesterday to commemorate Mother's Day? A very simple and Tasteless dinner... hahahhahaa.....
I invited my mum over for a "humble" steamboat dinner ... shy to say that the dinner didn't turn up so well... firstly, my soup was taste-less.... too bland... too "ching" as in chinese saying. My mum gave me lots of tips while she was eating... hahahhaaha....
though tasteless... all were being walloped in no time
hungry ma... tasteless also eat like nobody's biz!
guess where we went...
yes, right, Secret Recipe... for our desserts!

ReplyDeleteHaha.. We had steamboat at my in-law's house too!! But I made the soup base with ikan bilis. Yummy!
ReplyDeleteHmm... mebbe next time you come KL, I will buy and give you a jar of Thai Tomyam Paste. They're very nice, the paste very thick and you can just dump them into boiling water and in no time, you'll get a nice steamboat soup. :D Confirm will got taste wan. Hehehehehe....and next time, when you got no time to cook, can also use that to make some tomyam soup for yourself and your kids. takes 5-10 minutes only.
ReplyDeleteBland or not, tasteless or not, Claire, it's the thoughts that counts. =D If I'm there, no complaints, wallop je lah. Besides, tasteless soup won't overpower the seafood taste. :D
