Air Itam In Pearl Of The Orient

It has been a long time since I last visited Air Itam, Penang. But this time when I took my sister to Penang, she wanted to go there to get some souvenirs, yes, they have lots of varieties there. One setback though... you must be very good in haggling the prices.

Take for instance, an item can cost from RM18... and my sister can haggled the price with that fella till it cost RM3.50. A fan like thing that can be used as a hat.... wow.. my sister can do wonders with her bargains...

anyone can recognise this fella?
yes, laksa man in front of the market
my sister said, "the dirtier, the tastier!" lol...

the shops leading to the Kek Lok Si...

the turtles... noticed that they are getting lesser

my sister doing her "haggling"
a smile means the deal was DONE!

  6. I went there - my friend had the Penang laksa, I didn't. Didn't fancy eating by the roadside pavement and clean would be the last word I would use to describe the vicinity. Eyew...

  13. Did you post four times today or did I somehow miss a few? I love these pictures of the market. Have you ever eaten turtles? When my kids were in China, I did a post of a Wal-Mart there, they had huge boxes of live turtles to eat in the front of the store. So your sister is bettet at haggling than you are? Oh, I would like to get a better look at what she bought! I'm scrolling down now to read your flower post!
