An Expensive Lesson Learnt

I couldn't sleep well last night.......

At around 11pm plus, I called it a night, my eyes were tired and when I looked into the mirror, I shocked myself with my own look! Serious... why so haggard looking one?? Thank goodness no friend around to see that look of mine....(quickly reminded myself-go for facial this weekend, go for facial this weekend...no more procrastinating!)

I switched off the TV and I saw my girl still playing with my handphone... my brain couldn't capture it straightaway, I let her played with my hp while I went to wash my face and did all the "whatever an aging lady needs to do... (don't ask what please..)
Finally when I wanted to switch off the lights, my girl handed my hp back to me... with Her Facebook account still ON... Then only it hit me.... "hey, I already off my modem so long already, what wireless did u use to see your Facebook??" She answered me, "I don't know.... I can log in one..." OH OH................

She never checked what wireless she used and simply logged in to the website using my handphone... guess what!! Yeah.... she was using my 3GMaxis Wireless and never realized that every minute, every KByte counts!

Haiyoh....Mummy bankrupt jor lor...... I checked my maxis phone bill this morning... it was a HEAFY AMOUNT OF RM 175.00!!!!

Cham lor!!! All along I used around RM50 for my handphone only ...and this little cute baby girl of mine used untill RM175 plus...plus... "over-over-exceeded-ed." What if I didn't know last night and she also didn't know .... how much more to pay?

Well, a lesson learnt by both of us... now she realizes that she has to click the D-link wireless instead of the Maxis Internet on my handphone and as for me, I realize that my girl is still a baby... still have to take care one and not to leave her quietly alone......... sigh....

  2. Sorry about the cellphone bill.... Your daughter learned the hard way... I'm not sure I'd let my daughter use my cellphone period---but these days, all kids seem to have their own cellphones. Times have changed!!!!

My son and family have some kind of 'family' plan --and all of them have their own cellphones --with unlimited minutes.. I'm sure they pay for it bigtime--but they don't run over and then have a huge bill like you do... I'm so sorry....

Hope you have a better week --after that problem.
    Hugs,
    Betsy

  3. Oh Gosh! You become a victim of Maxis too! I just got it from them. As a very careful (calculative) person, I check on every call I make and always make sure I didn't exceed the limit before end of the month. I was however shocked to see an extra RM10 being charged to my line even I was 100% sure that I didn't overuse my phone. Sigh...

  11. don't think adults are not vulnerable!!

i got a htc smartphone recently & activated wireless broadband as well, which maxis will charge only when used & i use this only when i need to surf urgently.

most times i use the hospital's free wi-fi to surf. once, the wi-fi wasn't working but this smartphone automatically connected to maxis broadband without my realising it.

    the damage : RM200!!

i promptly cancelled the broadband the next day.

  16. Ya...DIGI has free access to Facebook (data only - no pics, no videos), otherwise it's a maximum of RM5.00 a day to surf online. I guess it's the same with MAXIS.

    ReplyDelete
  17. You should have switched to DiGi. Maximum RM149..after that...FREE~ :D

  18. mamapumpkin: they get more expensive as they grow up..hahaha...yes, my son asked me to change to digi plan.. i will one day..no time to go out to search, wait for my prince to come back cos he knows what plan to take.. me ignorant one..

  23. Wah, I didnt know it can be so expensive. Luckily I have a "lau yah" phone that can't be use to surf net ;)

    ReplyDelete
  24. That's for the other service providers, I think. But to limit your bill, you can choose one of the cheaper packages e.g. 1MB...up to 5MB, like Broadband so that you will not have a shock when you get the bill. I use DIGI so I know there's free access to Facebook...and the rest, it's RM5 a day maximum, after that - free access already.
