My Old Faithful Washer....
This has been with us for more than 22 years.... I bought it when I got married...so it is now 24 years old and I was still utilizing it until yesterday. I have to "pension" it off... time for my Old Faithful to rest..... I don't have the heart to give it away to the vendor... unless someone I know needs it... if the vendor just want to throw it off, sorry la...
That's the one where you wash the clothes on what side...and then trasfer it to the dryer on the other, right? I had one exactly like that but it was a bit too small for heavy duty washing so we gave it away to my in-laws. Still going strong...unlike the one we bought to replace it. Already conked out and we had to buy another... Just about shows that oldies are goodies (...like us! Hehehehehehe!!!).
ReplyDelete*on one side...and then transfer...
ReplyDeleteno, STP...the green one is old liow.. can wash and spin in that..no need to transfer over one..now the new one is bigger, 8kg... hope it is as lasting as the green one..
ReplyDeletethe old one last very long.....not bad and worth it!!
ReplyDeleteMy electrolux washing machine has been serving for more than 26 years since my family moved into the present house. There were several times we almost said goodbye to it but its determination to stay on was so strong that it managed to survive till today. I am praying for its health and hopefully it always remains healthy so that I can save my $$$.
ReplyDeletechris:yea.. so that is why i still keep it..
ReplyDeletemingna: mine is 24years.. it can still be used but with a grilling sound..hahaha.. my neighbours will complain if i dont replace it..
I gave my old one away before I bought a new one.
ReplyDeleteSome sentimental stuff is worth to keep like the washing machine..coz it still work right? We bought new 1 and still keep the old 1 too.. :)
ReplyDeletecoz sometimes really sayang to throw ..
ReplyDeleteYes, I get attached to things and don't want to throw them away. Your new machine looks like it will hold more and has the digital controls. Does it work just as well as the old one?
ReplyDeleteWow! That was a great washer you had to last all those many years! I got about 8 years out of my old one and just replaced it this spring.
ReplyDeleteThe old one really looks ancient beside the new. But see it also I feel sam tung to give it away esp if they have been serving us well!
ReplyDeletewenn: i will keep this..just in case.. someone else needs it.. hahhaa..
ReplyDeletecath: yeah, still usable one only very noisy...
kathy: yeah..sentimental value..
ginny: that is one touch, hope it is lasting..
cheryl: oh, i hope this one will last me more than 8 years.. my old one is 24.. hahaha..
ann: yeah..keep first till someone really needs one..then i give it away.
The old old models r vy lasting. Altho the new ones hv more functions, etc, they don't last as long.
ReplyDeletemy mum has been using her washing machine till today, for 28 years! she also sayang it very much, like you :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm using the Panasonic (the same model with your new one) now & I hope it's long lasting :-)
ReplyDeleteI share the same sentiments, 22 yrs, lots of memories, I'll keep it , if space allows. All yr kids clothings from diaper to school uniform, the old faithful has served you well for 22 years.
ReplyDeletep/s , my dad still keeps our first washing machine, a Siemens Siwamat. I guess the memory of my mom using it for the first time cannot be erased. We kids, squat down and watch the machine spin spin spin with amazement. :D
ReplyDeleteboey: lagi lasting than mine.. hahaa. actually mine still ok only that noisy...
ReplyDeletedora: wah.same?? yes, hope it is lasting..
elaine: so yr dad also sentimental huh... like me..hahaha.. as i said, can use one..only noisy like renovating house.. neighbour might complain...
Really good to know that you are keeping your old sentimental stuff... I think most people do this so that it stays as a life long memory with us....
ReplyDeleteThe old one looks really... ancient! Is it still working? I won't keep it lor.. I'm the type who can't wait to get rid of things in the house haha... Panasonic is good. We're using one too. After so many years, it's still working well and most importantly, our clothes come out really, really clean! :)
