Big Portions At Houston Cafe

Last evening I took my mom, my sister and her kids to Houston Cafe. They have never been there and they welcome the idea readily. Houston Cafe is in town, just next to the Ipoh City Hotel. We were the first customers, reaching there around 7pm... Good, I love to see empty tables so that our food will be served without waiting long till our stomachs growl and growl... LOL....

There were five of us and I ordered five dishes... my mistake... I should have ordered four dishes instead since the portions were quite big actually....
I ordered Assam Curry Fish Head... not to be missed...
Pumpkin with minced chicken meat.... very nicely cooked...
the lady recommended their Smoked Chicken that comes with a bowl of blended ginger...
A very nice combination!
Young spinach to "neutralize" the hot curry... :)
And of course, not to be missed...
The Mango Kerabu...
These dishes are more than enough for the five of us...
Can feed at least 6 to 7 persons....
As for the price, the bill came to RM104 plus fruits and drinks....
Pricey or not, as long as the food is fabulous...
We don't mind going again and again....

  1. Quite pricey considering there is no prawn or fish. Food looks great except the smoked chicken looks like normal steamed chicken to me. I would peel off the chicken skin.

  18. I like the steamed chicken. The meat is so smooth that I will like to have it with the minced ginger as the dip.
