LABRADOR LOST AND FOUND...

RECEIVED a distress call yesterday around 4pm.  It was thunder and lightning in IPOH, my sis told me and while she was reversing the car, Labbie ran out.  I forgot to remind my sis that once it rains, Labbie will feel very restless and scared.  Sensing Labbie ran out, my sis quickly parked the car and went out looking for her despite the heavy rain.  But she could not find her anywhere.... Labbie must have ran very fast fearing for her life!

My sister quickly called me up citing her worries, I reassured her that Labbie would come home when the rain subsided as she had done so a few times before.  Every hour I kept tab with my sis and she updated me... she drove around our vicinity, looking for her but to no avail.

By nightfall, we were really worried then.... Made a few calls to my neigbours around my area and also to a few friends staying nearby... to look out for Labbie just in case they see her.  Even the guard knows Labbie and he told my sis that he saw her running towards the main road!

The whole evening here in JB was quite sombre, we were quite helpless.. other than making calls and keeping with my friends' updates, we just waited.... and prayed..... Hope is not gone yet.....

Morning came... I didn't get a good night sleep and I think my kids didn't either.  Andy was the most worried.  He got hold of his ex-classmate who stayed nearby to look out for Labbie too...   Then this morning around 10am, I saw Andy's msg... he gave me a facebook link and to my delight, someone found Labbie wandering into his house and posted up a few pictures of her, all wet and sad.... What a RELIEF to see her!!!

To cut story short, Andy and his cousin managed to PM the good samaritan and my sister went to "collect" Labbie from his house which is across the main road.  Before reaching the house, Labbie sensed my sister's presence and kept barking and barking *Hey... I'm Here, I'm Here... what took you so long???*    OK, this is my interpretion of Labbie's barks!

Phewwww.... really... the feeling of losing Labbie was indescribable... This incident taught me a lesson.. Never ever to take for granted that she knows how to come home.... the heavy rain has washed away her scent towards home...

Above all, I want to extend my Gratitude and Thanks to those involved... The Samaritan who rescued Labbie and posted up her pictures on FB group, LK who noticed the FB and informed my son, my in-laws here in Johor and those in Ipoh who went driving around to look for her.... our friends, Florence, Joshua who drove around too in the night too...  my nice neighbors who looked out for her as well too and kept messaging me for updates and a few of my friends who gave assurance that she would be home soon... my sister who is as worried as we were... and most evidently of all, to our Good Lord.....
Prayers Indeed Works!!

                                                             NEVER LOSE HOPE ON ME!

  4. Everyone in the family including Labbie didn't sleep well, worrying for each other. But now all is well, Labbie is home safe and sound and tonight all can sleep well. All thanks to our good LORD and all involved in the search and prayers. I think Labbie misses you.

  7. Glad everything is fine in the end. Poor Labbie. What a fright she had besides giving you guys some sleepless night and worries.

Most dogs are scared of thunders. My mum once had a Golden Retriever and everytime it was almost rain, mum has to chain her first. She ever run out from the house and everyone has to chase and pull her back under the rain. Imagine how heavy and strong a Golden Retriever is! ^^

  11. I am so glad for this happy ending!!! And you are very smart. I think you are right about the rain washing the scent away. But Labbie knows she is loved, hopefully will not run away again! Our cat Smba ran away last year, it was three below zero degrees. After four days, we thought he was dead. But one day at dinner, there was a meowing at the door, and it was Simba! He did not even have any frostbite!

  14. Thank goodness Labbie was found! The attachment we form with our pets dogs is really strong. I had a dog once and she also went missing. But my doggie was not so fortunate as she was found lifeless. I cried and cried and was sad for a while. No more doggies for me as I can't take another heartache!
