Homecooked Meals With Mary In Aberdeen

WHEN IT COMES TO MEALS,  it is much cheaper to do own cooking than eating out.  Meaning most of the time, we do our home cooking, breakfast, lunch and dinner.  A lot more frugal this way and of course, can get to taste Asian food especially for people like yours truly here.  My kids and I are blessed with Chinese food cooked by Mary, she is always inviting us over for meals!
Mary's delightful dinner for us....
All smiles before the indulgence.... Mine is the hungry grin! Lol...

Well, what goes round must come round and one evening I invited both of them to come to our place for a simplevdinner.  Homecooking is much cheaper and a better option than eating out.  Over here in the cold weather, I tend to get hungry very fast! Keep looking for snacks and I was so thankful when Mary brought over three packets of her Aberdeen moon cakes made from her own recipe!  She makes them once a year especially for this moon cake festival and orders keep coming in many days before the festival.  I normally don't eat much mooncakes back in Malaysia but Mary's mooncakes are very addictive.  I can easily finish one mooncake at one go!
Mary Moh's freshly baked mooncakes.... Fresh from the oven....
Dinner for six... Just Assam cod fish curry, ginger mushroom chicken marinated in brandy, kale with anchoives and ABC soup....
Before and after dinner.... A cup of Ipoh Hazelnut coffee and mooncakes for fellowship!

  1. The design on Mary's mooncake are very well defined. I note the serving spoon in every dish👍👍

I love mooncakes but not ones with fatty pork but I have not try snowskin and jelly mooncake. Perhaps, I will get the opportunity to make mooncake in the near future.

What is an ABC soup? I am only familiar with ABC desserts. Ipoh hazelnut coffee sounds exotic!

  4. You know, you can hardly find fresh from the oven mooncake in Malaysia anymore. Have to go to Aberdeen to get fresh and delicious mooncake!
