Yes, it was raining in Reno and halfway up, the rain became heavier.... we made a detour back to town. Though we were using a four wheeled drive, my BIL wanted to install some chain tires just in case of the heavy snow. Unfortunately the shop did not have the size of the car's tires... leaving no choice, we continued driving back to the mountains again, praying that the snow would not deter us from going through that stretch......
The road leading up to the mountains.....
Raining? Snowing? They looked so soft...
Thank God it was not heavy as reported on radio....
Still visible... Thank God...
Imagine... just two days ago, everything was so Green...
And just two days later, everything turned White.....
Everything was in White...
Though it is spring now... it still looks like Winter...
So this is how Christmas tree looks like in real.....
This stretch of road took more than an hour....
One hour of admiring the snow....
The whole stretch was only White and Black....
I was awe stuck...
First time in history, I experienced driving through the snow... regardless....
Finally we arrived at the other side of the mountain...
We have overcame the "danger" part....
And the rain turned into ice... just in front of our eyes...
Bye Bye Snow...
A very memorable beautiful experience indeed.....
Oh my, this looks so dangerous, Claire! Beautiful but frightening. So glad you are back safe and sound!
ReplyDeleteGosh! That is a dangerous drive up the mountain. What an adventure. But worth the experience.
