10 Items Every Living Room Must Have

Sofa
A sofa is mandatory in every living room. Even if other types of chairs or seats are patronised more in a home, no living room can look complete without a sofa. For studio apartments, getting a sofa bed instead of a sofa can be very practical. Its ability to serve as a 2 in 1 option allows you to tackle your space constraint issues. Sofas are sometimes dreadful to purchase because they are known to be pretty expensive. Thankfully for online home furniture stores such as Masons Home Décor getting a good quality and nice looking sofa at a good price is not impossible. Do be sure to check if the store you are purchasing from provides delivery too!

Pillows
Pillows are definitely very comfortable, but their purpose to be put on a sofa is not exactly to add to comfort. Yes, many a times, we use pillows for added support to our backs. But most would have to agree, a sofa would look really naked without pillows!

Bean Bag
Probably the invention that makes everyone reconsider getting a sofa in the first place! Bean bags  are economical in price and extremely comfortable. The high demand for bean bags have also resulted in it being readily available at all furniture shops in Singapore, Malaysia, and other parts of Asia. Being also available in many types of designs, they can provide a significant boost to the overall décor of your home. A bean bag usually becomes a very personal kind of furniture. Having a bean bag every member of the household is not uncommon!

Poufs
The material used to manufacture poufs range from knitted fabrics to acrylic. The material however, is always a secondary factor to a consumer’s decision making process. Even cheap poufs look great to be used simply using it as a home décor tool. On a more practical note, they can be sat on or used as a footstool.

Plants
Be it artificial or real, plants are known to be very adaptable regardless of the type of home décor theme you have in mine. They look fantastic within any setting! Choosing the best plant for your home is really all about personal preference. It is the one component in the living room that can be linked to the personality of the home owner! In recent months, the use of a terrarium has been gaining popularity among young couples. A terrarium displays variety, is easy to clean, and can be even be customised by terrarium makers in Singapore and Malaysia. The vase using to contain the plants can also be very instrumental to end look of your living room. Use a contrasting colour that works!

Rug
Most homeowners want to create a warm and cosy feel for their home. Most of the times, they are often left flustered due to a lack of doable ideas. A high pile rug could definitely do the trick. It is also nice for your toes to be able to snuggle within the warmth of a rug. Air-conditioning is used in most modern homes in Singapore and Malaysia. The result of cold floors are therefore very inevitable! It is important to note that the base of your furniture should protrude out of the rugs. They should either be fully on the rug, or fully out of the rug.

Coffee Table
The perfect item to go on top of the rug. A coffee table is not only practical, but it also completes the overall look of the living room. The colour of the coffee table should match the tones of your TV console and sofa to create a very consistent and beautiful look. A coffee table is also perfect for providing an added storage solution to your home. Most coffee tables come with drawers and other sort of storage compartments. Do not forget to add some nice looking coasters on its surface!

TV
Investing in a TV for the living room can enforce some quality family time together. Even if television shows or movies are not your cup of tea, a TV will always come in handy in several moments of your life. Having an awkward social gathering? A TV can certainly be of great help! Furthermore, technological advancements have enabled even the smallest of homes to be able to house large television sets!

Ceiling Fan
On days or nights where the heat is not that torturous, it is good that we have the option of a fan. Using a fan brings about great ventilation within the home, and is also a very cost effective solution as compared to an air-conditioner.

Photo Frames
What better way is there to let visitors have a better understanding on the members of this home? Having photo frames around the home reinforces the identity of the space. Being able to look at such amazing memories on a daily basis would most certainly make coming to a clean home a greater activity than it already is!
