Our First Chinese New Year Dinner In Perling, Johor

JALAN-JALAN CARI MAKAN!   (LOOK OUT FOR FOOD)

That is why we normally do when we reach Johor, or should I say... me?  This time I brought my buddy along on this trip.  She is my childhood friend since.... how many years back?   Cannot remember, more than 40 years anytime!   LOL... That shows how "young" we are now...

Anyway, I am so glad she finally followed me on this southbound trip, my kids are very comfortable with her, she is more or less their so-called "Kai Ma" aka Second Mother... I remember during the time when I was still working and had to go on "kursus" (seminars/training/games) away from home, I would send SOS to my friend to come over and stay with my kids.  At least I have a peace of mind with her around in the house during my absence.

Back to my first evening in Johor... my in-laws are very nice folks.  Whenever we come down to Johor, they would invite us out for dinner and this time they took us to a new restaurant in Perling.  So excited or so hungry about eating that I practically forget to take down the name of the place... Oh well... perhaps the next time round... LOL...

This is a set meal which cost around RM238 excluding the appetizer and the dessert....
Since it was still CNY, we ordered Loe Sang as appetizers to start off...
I just cannot get fed-up eating this again and again!
Fook Chow soup... sour and a bit spicy... with bamboo shoots..
Many do not like the smell of that but I really don't mind....
Mixed vegetable with a few Macadamia nuts...
Buttered Prawns....
Saucy Steam Fish....
Meat Trotters in claypot....
For the 7 of us....
Oh yeah, this dish was ordered separately....
And that was more than enough for 7 mouths!  LOL...
For Ipohians,  one look they will know this is the trademark design from Nancy Chong...
My niece requested for it and we brought it all the way from Ipoh....
My kids also love this butter cake very much!
For one kilo, it is now selling at RM65 ($16usd)

  2. That is a good price for a 1 kg butter cake. That is a lot of food for that price. Good deal. I like that they add macadamia nuts to that dish.
