Exhausted... just came back from Penang and this trip took me more than 3 hours to reach Ipoh. Any normal days, it will only take less than two hours from Ipoh to Penang...
The jam started from Penang bridge and the highway was at a crawl at certain parts of the way...
If not for automatic gear, I think I would have sore legs by now... serious...
I guess these few days, the highways will be jammed up....
Thank goodness another public holiday on Thursday... does anyone know that? It is Malaysia Day.. or is it One Malaysia Day? Whatever it is, I welcome it!!!

jen: u r blessed with a driver then.. so nice.. :)
Malaysia Day lah! The actual date Malaysia was formed - September 16th. August 31st the day Semenanjung got its independence in 1957 - no significance for us over here - we got our independence on Malaysia Day itself.
ReplyDeleteThat bridge! How I hated it! And the problem is the flight Sibu-KL-Penang will arrive around 4 something, peak hours and the bridge will be jammed - would take so long to cross and get to SP. My daughter will have to go through that again in 2012... SIGH!!!! Siapa government...also the same, no improvement, no difference at all!!!
Well,i hope this holiday you will rest really well, you have been running here and there, Penang and Ipoh, blogging, PPP and makaning,so i think it will do you a lot of good, just to kick your shoes off and just lepak lah ,ok sister?
ReplyDeleteIt is Malaysia Day and TYT birthday for Sabah. Do come to sabah on that day..Sabah become a host for the 11st time Malaysia Day. Sabah joined Malaysia in 16sept too..
ReplyDeleteAny holiday is most welcomed :)
ReplyDeleteBut 1-Malaysia Day? Nah, the 1-Malaysia concept started long time ago. People just don't know it, others just want to destroy it.
stp: so maybe we can meet each other up in 2012? hahahaa..long way, man..
ReplyDeleteeugene: yeah, more trips to come .. but as long as not holiday season, penang is ok..
alv: never been to sabah..yes, one day will go...
kev: agree with u!
I just knew it yesterday so it's like a sudden surprise to us!
ReplyDeleteWah 3 hours! How come? I thought most people would still be on holidays? Is it because of the bridge?
ReplyDeleteYa...Happy Malaysia Day! Worth it for another break!
ReplyDeleteOh yes....I welcome that PH too. haha..... I think it is call 'Hari Malaysia' but for what reason, I'm not too sure. Not good in history. hehe
ReplyDeleteThey call it Malaysia Day..
ReplyDeleteI wont be off that day, as company brought forward the holiday to yesterday...
dora: i know it before raya only.. blur blur.. hahaha..
ReplyDeletesweetwitch: i saw a lot of south bound cars.. all rushing to go back..
angeline: Malaysia has the most holidays..hahaha.
mnhl: this is the day sabah and sarawak joined Malaysia.. hopefully i m correct.. hahaha..
hayley: so considerate of your company..
Nice right? after Raya Holiday, here come another Malaysia day! :D

ReplyDeletecaroline: yeah yeah.. this year starting over here..
ReplyDeletetuti: yes, yes..hip hip hooray.. hahaa..

ReplyDeleteit's Malaysia Day i guess, but not important be it Malaysia or 1-Malaysia.. i'm more concern of another day off, haha~~ :D
ReplyDeleteSounds like a lot of holidays there. Malaysia Day? Thought it's 31st Aug. I'm lost...haha
ReplyDeleteYipee another hol, can wake up a bit late, laze around...
ReplyDeleteMaybe I'll have to clean my apartment. :(
medie: after so many years, yeah!!
ReplyDeletesk: i ditto to that too.. whatever day it is..
mary: yes, independance day is 31st aug.. 16 sept is when sabah and sarawak join Malaysia..
jessie: gosh, dont remind me too!
Happy holiday! I don't mind more holidays too:)
ReplyDeleteDenesa... we mums welcome them anytime..right? lol..
ReplyDeleteanother excuse the govt created to make the people "lepak."
ReplyDeleteNot true, doc... They've been getting pressure from this side over the years - the unhappiness about Malaysia Day on August 31st when it is actually Malaya Day. Quite meaningless for us to celebrate on that day.
ReplyDeleteNow, they're relenting...as they're getting worried - after all, we are their so-called "fixed deposits".
doc: i welcome it..whatever day it is..
ReplyDeletestp: yes, we in penisular never thought much of it..in fact i didnt know until the issue recently.. :(
Agree with Alv0808...
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, sometimes the celebration about 16sept is very confusing because there are issues, opinions or whatever you called it raised both by the politicians and the media.
I surf the internet and I thought my head will explode...lots of facts, stories, explanations and more bla bla bla...
some of it only want to exploit the issue for their own benefit...
It is holiday so whatever...Just give thanks that we live in Malaysia ;)
looking forward to tomorrow (16th Sept)... public holiday!! yay!! =D get to stay at home, sleep in till 9am, play with my daughter and have lunch with my hubby =D
ReplyDeleteHolidays are good for parents like me because I can rest. :D
ReplyDeletesum: yes, i welcome any holidays!!
ReplyDeleteyanz: have a wonderful time!!
tekkaus: phew.. me too!!
It's Malaysia Day... the real National Day. Malaysia was formed on 16th Sept many years back... if not mistaken, 47 years ago. 31st August is Independence Day... the day Malaya was freed from the British colonization.
ReplyDelete31st August- Independence Day
16th Sept- Malaysia/National Day
