anyone tried this before?
suddenly it reminded me of the
Leaning Tower of Pisa... :)
At first we did not know how to eat it...
until the waiter came and told us to
break it up... mixed it with
the scraped coconut and sugar...
So... what was the taste like?
er... something like eating some sort of sweetened flour..
Well, we were not used to it ... as yet...
But I think it would be nice if it is eaten steaming hot....
Anyone know the actual name for this?
i think its called putu bamboo. They use bamboo stick punya...there is a stall at pasar malam near my place. I bought and tried once but not noce coz the fella put a lot of the normal sugar instead of gula melaka

ReplyDeleteYes, I am pretty sure it's called putu bamboo, that explains why it is cylindrical in shape.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I think putu mayam wouldn't erect like that and it's shape would resemble that of a UFO. I guess putu mayam is the same as putu piring.
