Have an Unconventional Christmas - Visit Disney

This idea may be too late for this Christmas, but it just might be the perfect idea for next Christmas.  If your children (or you), love all things Disney, perhaps give them the ultimate gift of taking them to Disney for Christmas!

A friend surprised her children by putting just one Christmas present under the tree for each child.  When they opened them at the same time, they each found a costume for their favorite Disney character.  The kids were excited, but didn't realize what it meant.  With the video camera running, she told them that they were to get dressed and in the car because they were heading to Disney.

Going to Disney Florida during the Christmas holiday, specifically at Christmas, can actually save you money.  If you need to fly to get there, the cheapest day to fly around the holidays is on Christmas Day because so few people like to fly on the actual holiday.  In addition, you may find that the lines at the Disney amusement parks and other places like Discovery Cove are short on the actual holiday.
If you are planning a big trip like this, planning ahead is important.  You will need to get your tickets weeks, if not months, in advance for the different parks that you want to visit.  Remember, bundled tickets that allow you to visit several different sites will save you the most money.

You may also want to book a room in a hotel or resort right in the grounds so that you can come back during the day if the kids get tired or if you want to take a lunch break without paying for an expensive lunch in the park.

Don't forget to also watch deal sites for discounts on restaurants and hotels near the park as well as some of the parks themselves.  If you give yourself at least 6 months, you should find plenty of good deals.

Going to Disney doesn't have to be outrageously expensive, and you don't have to suffer through long lines.  Plan your trip around the actual Christmas holiday, and you will save money as well as give your kids a surprise they will never forget!

  1. Love Disneyland. Went to the one in Japan...but not very authentic...all the people there with Asian faces. I think the Hongkong one the same - will have to go to the one in the states...or in France perhaps.
