A Good Meal At The YMCA, IPOH

It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.
It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.
You can get yourself clean,
You can have a good meal,
You can do whatever you feel...

Do the words above sound familiar?   I bet many knows this song too!

Yes, we got a good meal at YMCA cafetaria just a couple of days ago.  Thinking back, it has been many years since I last went there for dinner.  I thought it was not operating anymore until I came across a post in a food blog lately.  Since then, I bookmarked this place in my "mind" ....

As usual, the four of us went for our dinner and three dishes were more than sufficient for us....
Just look at their special Beancurd!
So nicely and neatly fried... and crispy at the edges...
Just Perfect!
All of us like it....
Second dish.... another one of my girl's favourite...
A very popular dish among us... hahaha..
Last and not least, their signature dish is Shark meat with Salted Vegetables...
Appetizing especially for my mom...
She could finished her bowl of rice because of the sourish vegetables...
And the price?
For the four of us with rice and tea, the meal came to RM34 only!  ($11usd)
I think it is a good deal, right?
Will surely come by again .... soon!

  5. Yes, very attractive price! Food looks good too. I am wondering how is the texture of the tofu aside from its crispy skin. Is it smooth and silky?

  6. YES, I remember The Village People sung that song! We have a Y just a few blocks from our house, they are very popular and all over the place here. Are you going to have a big retirement celebration with your children?

  7. That's a gay song alright! LOL!!! Food looks homecooked and so so so cheap. I just had lunch with a friend - RM44 for 2, nothing special or expensive. Quite shocked by the total.

    1. Is it really? I never heard about that... anyway, it was so popular in the 1970s... for 2 persons, it surely is expensive..

You know what? The YMCA in KL serves very good meals too and their cafe is always packed like crazy for breakfast and lunch! The restaurant inside YMCA Penang is also packed during dinners cos I have not been there for lunch.
