Hooray!! Hooray!! Hooray from me for bringing me along and the name of the shop is called Hooray!! What a nice cute name... I was imagining something very western about the place... but no, the food is purely Asian. A very simple corner shop which serves mixed rice during the day and ala carte dishes during the evenings. Recommended by an ex-colleague, I was all eager to see what they served....
One young man came to take our order and we could not help ordering what he recommended... "Rubbish Chicken!" Oh my goodness, what a name! I am sure this dish will draw some hesitation, we were also taken aback... and curious at the same time. OK, Rubbish Chicken??? No problem, we were Game for it!
And so... the dish came out in a Claypot...
Inside the pot, the Rubbish Chicken consisted of chicken, *of course*
cooked with tumeric, curry leaves, ginger.... etc. etc..
More or less my style of cooking...
Everything dumped in and turned out pretty good!
If it is called Claypot chicken, the name does not sound astonishing, right?
However Rubbish Chicken will draw some attention!
Next came the young and fresh sweet potato leaves...
Sizzling hot in a claypot too!
We super like!
Lots of picked onions on top and fried crispy meat beneath...
Our three dishes for us three...
Let's get busy now....
As for the bill, it came to a reasonable RM46 with rice and drinks....
And I'll say....
Hip, Hip Hurray!!
