THE DIFFERENCE.... Two different shops, more or less the same food and a big difference in pricing. The first shop we went a couple of weeks ago was in town, famous for their fried fish to be eaten with porridge. We ordered 3 dishes for 4 of us and the price was alarmingly high considering the dishes had nothing to shout about.
Then few days ago we went to another shop in Falim, called Wong Zheng, we ordered 3 dishes too, almost the same as the one mentioned above. The food here is much nicer and the price is reasonable too. Summary: we compared the food and the price and came to a conclusion that we would not be going back to the first shop but will continue to frequent the second. LOL.... I guess Ipohians are like that... where food is nice and reasonable, the shop will flourish and on the other hand, if the food is so-so but expensive, we might not go there anymore.

Fried fish with bitter gourd....  Braised yam... The presentation here might be nicer than the second shop but taste wise, it is still lacking....  Fried minced pork....And the bill came to RM90 for these 3 dishes.... Now the second shop dishes are as follows:  Fried fish with assam sauce....  |

For these three dishes, the bill came to Rm67...
That's the difference between the first and the second....

Yes, some places, their knives are very very sharp and the food is not necessarily nicer. If very very nice, I do not mind - value for money. If not, I will never ever go back again!!!
ReplyDeletehmmmm bitter gourd is expensive? lolx ! some places will give excuses that the fish is based on current market price, so that one hard to argue....Yea, better don't go back to the first shop, otherwise kena 'slaughtered' again.

ReplyDeleteAre the fish dishes using different type of fish? Or same type? If different type then cannot compare cos some type of fish is more expensive than other type.
