JUST TYPE IN THE WORDS NYONYA FOOD IN PENANG and a list of places will come out from the browser. That is what I normally do when meal time comes and I do not know where to go.
And Winn's cafe name came out on the list, since we had not been there, we decided to give it a try. Three of us went during lunch time and yes, do call up to make a reservation just in case. Some cafes need to book while some will say, just walk in or wait patiently outside if they are full.
Nowadays bungalows on the main roads are turned into business shops or cafes/restaurants and Winn's is one of the latter. Very homely styled with ample parking in the compound. Nice ambience inside and the food did not disappoint us too. The three of us had the following dishes....
Nasi Ulam.... mostly raw greens cut up and mixed with blue pea rice...
We ordered a plate to share among us three....
Four angle bean aka Kacang Botol...
Made in Kerabu style... sweet and appetizing, I like!
Chicken Lobak....
Curry fish in rich santan gravy....
Ju Hu Char is a must in a Nyonya restaurant....
For three people... 5 dishes in total....
The tab came to around RM150...
After the lunch, one lady walked out with a full satisfying look!
LOL...
Wow! All those dishes I know I will enjoy. I must highlight this place to my partner. Just in case if we go to Penang together, I want to go to Winn's.

ReplyDeleteThe dishes look so tasty 😋 yummy!
ReplyDeleteWe went to one at a bungalow in Penang, expensive, classy but...mediocre. Didn't get us jumping with excitement.
